Meet a #RavIntern: Divya Dharani Dhanabalan, Research Engineer
Meet Divya
Divya is a Research Engineer Intern at Raven’s Scottsdale, AZ office and is joining us all the way from Chennai, India. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and is a current graduate student at Arizona State University, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science.
Divya was drawn to engineering for her desire to deepen her knowledge and skillsets in the computer sciences, specifically cloud computing and artificial intelligence. It was her interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning that drew Divya to Raven Industries. She is excited to intern at a company where her work has a direct impact on our everyday lives.
Summer at Raven
Through this internship, Divya hopes to gain a better understanding of the scope and needs of advanced technologies in industries like farming. This summer, Divya will be working on object detection machine learning (ML) models. She has already begun a project focused on transformer-based ML models. She uses images captured by the edge devices on the farming field and performs analytics on the obtained results. Her research will help with the object detection engineering here at Raven.
Divya enjoys that instead of working on a small part of a bigger project, Raven allows interns to work on building an entire project from scratch that will be deployed in production. She expressed how it makes her feel like she belongs here, helping Raven solve great challenges. Divya chose Raven knowing that she can learn a lot while making a difference.
I like the fact that people here at Raven are driven to innovate, make bold moves, and make a greater impact on society.
