Technology Architecture

Raven Implement Steering is operated with a central CR12 field computer, while tractor and implement positions are recorded via two separate RTK-GPS antennas. Since the implement often moves differently than the tractor, both parts of the system have their own gyroscope (slope compensation module). The tractor is controlled hydraulically.

Hydraulic Installation Or Steer Ready Machines

Raven’s exclusive hydraulic valve can be retrofitted to almost any machine - hydraulic block (manifold) with load sense as well as with open center systems. This enables you to equip all machines with hydraulic steering via GPS steering.

Increase Your Precision With VSN® Visual Guidance

Adding VSN® to Implement Steering adds additional perception capabilities, allowing the implement to drive through as thin as 5” row spacing. When added to a cultivator, VSN can detect smaller crops, giving you the ability to start cultivating when crop emerges (5 cm/2-inch crop height). This fully integrated system allows you to set your GPS guidance lines when seeding, then start cultivating with VSN once crops emerge.

Disc Steering

With disc steering, one or more disc coulters are installed behind the implement to steer the unit. Raven’s high-quality adapter frame, which attaches the discs to the implement, can be used interchangeably between several machines. Benefits: Best-selling market-leading solution with over a decade of development and testing. Implement runs loose behind the tractor, which limits steering variances from the GPS guidance line. Adjustable interchangeable adapter frame (optional).

Rear Wheel Steering

For trailer-type machines with steered axles, Implement Steering can be integrated directly with the implement. Raven can connect with existing hardware on most machines to control the machine perfectly with the rear GPS unit. Benefits: Same level of effectiveness as disc steering, using equipment’s existing wheels. Implement runs loose behind the tractor, which limits steering variances from the GPS guidance line.

Drawbar Steering

If a machine (e.g., a transplanter) already has drawbar steering installed, Raven can seamlessly mount our Implement Steering systems on its existing hydraulic cylinders. Benefits: Easy universal installation. Hydraulic cylinder is implemented directly on the implement.

Sideshift Steering

Raven SideShift steering is a hydraulic cylinder that is connected between the tractor and the implement. Based on its GPS position, the implement is adjusted to the left or the right. Benefits: Easy universal installation with CAT.2 or CAT.3 ball hitches. Hydraulic cylinder is implemented directly on the implement. Minimal loss of load capacity and lifting power.

Moveable Hitch Steering

Moveable hitch steering systems give the operator more control over the position of the device and drift, even when the device moves in the opposite direction relative to the pulling tractor. It offers the flexibility to adapt the control system for towbars to your active device control. Benefits: Up to 26 inches of offline correction in both directions. Double cylinders adapt in both directions, eliminating crop damage. Achieve an accuracy of less than 2.5 cm.

Plough Steering

A straight, clean plough furrow is ideal for preparing for the coming season. A level seedbed promotes a homogenous field emergence, which makes weed control easier and more successful. Plough steering helps keep the furrow straight and clean. Benefits: AutoPlough automatically makes the plough wider and narrower in all positions to maintain a straight furrow. No longer have to fight to pull the plough through changing soils and hills, or drive through the field to straighten the furrow.
