Meet Collin
Collin Reitsma is originally from Sioux Falls, SD and is working at the Raven Innovation Campus (RIC) in Baltic, SD this summer as a test engineer. He will be going into his senior year at Dordt University, majoring in mechanical engineering.
Engineering is not unfamiliar to Collin, since his father is also an engineer. The subjects of math and science were something he has grown up in and always enjoyed. In this internship, Collin is looking to learn a lot and collaborate with other engineers to get the most experience out of this as possible.
Team members and leadership really invest in you and want to see you grow and learn, and they take the time to help you.
— Collin Reitsma, Test Engineering Intern
Summer at Raven
While working as a test engineer, Collin tests the new and current designs for Raven. His main project of the summer is the OMNiPOWERTM, Raven’s completely autonomous machine. Collin has been working on their latest model, doing structural and hydraulic testing.
Collin believes that the biggest thing that separates Raven’s internship experience from others is that they have you work on real and current projects, rather than just doing busy work. You work alongside other engineers and are a valuable part of the team.
